Trail Overview
The Burnt Hill and Interloken Trails offer a deep-woods adventure right in the heart of the Finger Lakes National Forest — the only national forest in New York State. This hike winds through a mix of pine plantations, open fields, and hardwood forests, with options to complete a loop or hike the Interloken Trail as an out-and-back.
This trail is perfect for hikers looking to get away from crowds and into a more secluded, backcountry setting. You’ll often hear more birds than people, and in the fall, it’s a top-notch leaf-peeping destination.
